How to get to Pisa and how to get around

How to get to Pisa and how to get around

Our suites are all located in Pisa's historic center.

We'll provide a brief guide on how to get there and get around the city.

🚗 Where to park in Pisa – Other useful information
If you're arriving by car to visit Pisa and stay in an apartment, knowing where to park can make your arrival much easier.
Pisa's historic center is largely a 24-hour Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL), monitored by 24-hour cameras.
To avoid fines, we recommend not driving into the city center without authorization.

🅿️ Street Parking

  • Blue lines indicate paid parking: you can pay at the machines or with apps like myCicero and EasyPark.
  • White lines are generally free but are often difficult to find near major attractions.
  • Always remember to read the signs and hours to avoid fines.
  • Parking in the blue spaces is paid from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.
🅿️ Private Parking

The easiest way to visit Pisa is to leave your car in a private paid parking lot outside the restricted traffic zone (ZTL) and then explore on foot.

Recommended Parking:
  • Saba V. Emanuele Parking
Located in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, open 24 hours a day, with hundreds of covered parking spaces near the Central Station and the historic center. It's perfect if you're arriving by car and want to explore the city on foot or reach the main points of interest in just a few minutes.

  • Pisa Tower Parking
– Convenient parking for visiting the Piazza dei Miracoli and the Leaning Tower, just a few minutes' walk from the center.

🚶‍♂️ Once you've parked your car, you can easily reach the apartment and discover Pisa by strolling through its squares, riversides, and main monuments.

🚗 "Lungarni" ZTL – Nighttime ZTL / Limited Traffic

📍 The ZTL along the Arno River (Lungarno Pacinotti, Lungarno Mediceo, Lungarno Galilei, Lungarno Gambacorti, and related areas such as Ponte di Mezzo, Piazza Carrara, etc.) is not active 24 hours a day, year-round like the standard central ZTL area: it is managed differently and varies.

There are, however, clear GREEN or RED signs, depending on the situation.

👉 Seasonal Activation and Typical Hours

🗓️ From approximately May to September: Nighttime ZTL along the Lungarni (varies year by year) – generally from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM the following morning.
🌙 In the months of May, August, and September: only active on Fridays, Saturdays, and the days before public holidays.
🌙 In the months of June and July: active every evening.
📌 All hours are subject to annual ordinances and may change: the Municipality of Pisa issues detailed regulations each year, so exact times and dates should always be checked on the official website or in the mobility/ordinances section.
